Get a Horse!

Dorothy McKim fabricated a ton of the films in the new collection, merely she told the states that "Become a Horse!" is her favorite.

get a horse

"I beloved each of them for a little unlike reason. I lean a little bit towards Get A Equus caballus! Itjust to be able to bring a continued Walt's legacy and his dream of doing shorts and using his voice in that short.  Everything authentically was Walt in that short.  We screened it for John Lasseter, the brusk, and he said, "Everything is Walt, great. I'm and so excited." Nosotros screened it, we finished, and John said, "No there's one discussion in in that location. The word cherry-red is not Walt." I'grand like, "How did he pick that out?" Of everything he picked that out and he was right. We could non find the give-and-take ruddy anywhere in the library. So, we worked most 3 months with our Sound Designer and he establish an ER-EH-DE from Walt. three syllables and we put 'em together. So it's 100% Walt." – Dorothy McKim

Audio Effects for Get A Equus caballus!

For "Get A Horse!" Kim wanted everything to be so accurate to the original brusk that she had Jim McDonald create all the sound effects using the original props.
"We went over to that library, and nosotros used those. We had the guy who runs [the library] demonstrate everything for u.s.a.. We actually used them in a short so we can stay authentic to it." – Kim

She told us a story well-nigh one of the sound effects used for "Become a Horse!"

"Donald'due south wife bought him a wallet for Christmas. And she had his name engraved–  information technology's a little leather wallet.  They didn't engrave his initials just right." It was non exactly what he wanted, but as he was holding it, he started feeling and moving information technology. "He love[d] the sound of it. When y'all accept it, and you move information technology dorsum and forth, it'south actually the sound of the dwarves walking in the mine shaft.  So it was this uh– [OVERLAP] information technology's the squeak.  Nosotros were holding that aforementioned wallet.  It's just amazing that they had kept everything." – Kim

Frozen Fever

Frozen Fever is a brusk motion picture that shows us a glimpse of life for Elsa & Anna later on Frozen. Peter is the producer of both Frozen and Frozen Fever.

"I recollect for the states coming off of Frozen, the picture, the idea that we get to explore a unlike side of Elsa and find certain comedy in her really appealed to united states of america.  We started the short not that long after the film. About vi months after the movie, but we had only released in some of the foreign territories. Then the movie was very fresh in our minds, but it was really the thought of exploring in a different part of Elsa."

Frozen Fever Research

"For Frozen Fever, we really built on the research that was done for Frozen. We went out to the Ice Hotel in Canada to spend the day.  We didn't actually stay overnight.  It was freezing.  We did interviews all day long. The fashion that research trip uh influenced the brusk was we ready the brusk in springtime."

John Henry

john henry

Mark Henn, Managing director of John Henry, talked to us a footling about John Henry Enquiry and Disney Short in general.

"In that location's a lot less risk involved with a brusque.  You're gratuitous.  Yous take a much more liberty to explore and experiment without putting a full characteristic out there and the commitment and the coin behind a full characteristic.  In that location's something that perhaps artistically turns the audiences off, merely in the short, it's a short."

"We did a inquiry trip to a footling town of Talcott, Due west Virginia, which is the where the Big Ben tunnel. John Henry supposedly had dug that. We spent a couple of days in that location at the John Henry Festival.  It's simply like a big church social, which was a blast. You could actually meet the real tunnel. We also spent time in Washington, D.C. at the National Gallery, and they pulled out some artwork that they had related to John Henry that well-nigh people don't go to see."

Lorenzo

lorenzo Short

Mike Gabriel, Managing director of Lorenzo, was hilarious! He talked to us about the styling of the curt film and the sound prune from the beginning of the flick.

"To make it look like it was the pencil cartoon, [the artist] devised a way to actually move the paint strokes around, and it'due south a really cool await.  And the Executive at the time said, "I wanna' make this curt 'cause look how cool that looks when the paint strokes are moving in space like that.""

Mike told us a story virtually the music timing when the Disney Logo comes up in the short. When the quondam castle is neon, "you're hearing the orchestra begin to tune upwardly and the orchestra leader is proverb, "Concentration 1, two, 3."" "Nosotros didn't know what to put under the opening logo.  Nosotros were in this concluding mix with Roy Disney, the Executive Producer and Don Hahn and Baker Bloodworth and information technology was just expressionless air and nosotros didn't showtime the music until, I have had an exceptional you know the start note is pretty big.  BOM BA-DA!" At that place could not be anything ahead of information technology.

"Musically nosotros had nowhere to become.  Simply I said, "when we were in London recording the orchestra with this rail. I actually kept it going at the beginning.  I was on the floor once I was actually recording on my home video recorder. I recorded information technology then I ran home, half hour drive home, half hour back and we pulled the tape out and they said, "It's make clean enough.  We'll use information technology."  They cleaned it up off of my video record. I love that moment because information technology'southward still authentic you know. Information technology's really dynamic."
